FEATURED: The New Droid Bionic!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Well guess what Apple! You now have a new rival to face with now! Lets see if you can beat the new Droid Bionic. After all Android is a pretty cool OS and lets see what this new Droid Bionic has inst0re for us!

Well the Droid Bionic is finally here and after all the wait, it has finally been released. This is the only dual-core smartphone that is to work with Verizon’s 4G network. It will be available on Verizon’s store as of today! You want it? Come and get it! The price of the contract and phone (total) will be $300 with a 2 year Verizon contract and $590 for none. Well both do suck because you pay the same amount, maybe not for the $590 deal though.

Well watch out Apple because you have a new competition that is charging your way. Android is going to just beat you someday and this is just a head start for them.

Well, I guess you could say that this smartphone has some great features. It has 4G wireless, has a nice camera, dual processor for faster things to be done and to make sure that all your multitasking is kept. Other than all these the best feature yet is the Android OS being used on this smartphone. I’m not sure which version it is running on, but I’m taking a good observational guess that this is probably Gingerbread 2.3.4. It has to be one of those and it probably isn’t going to be Ice Cream Sandwich any time soon.

Has a few features like the iPhone, including Netflix streaming and even streaming to your computer. The graphics are just amazing with kind of like the retina graphics that you would find in an iPhone 4. There is a crisp, vivid display of the whole setting and has a great touch screen. It seems that the camera is 8MP and that the phone can be a 4G hotspot for about 5 Wi-Fi devices. Pretty nice, huh? It has many synchronizations to connect to Google, your computer and many other things. So far, all the things are powered by Google, including voice search, maps, and everything else. It has 16 GB of storage and has a few sensors that can add up the spice to the device’s functionality. It’s basically business ready for everyone.

The drawbacks are kind of obvious. Battery, energy, and costs can be just like the HTC phones in which you may have to pay $1,000 a year totally with the Verizon contract. With that kind of contract, everyone is going to wait until something like ATT comes to it or maybe even T-Mobile. The HD screen makes it comfortable for all video and movie watchers to enjoy the day. It seems that this could just kind of be like the HTC phone ,but I’m not sure about the cost, but all I know is that it’s pretty nice!

Well let’s just see the sales of this phone and observe whether it is time for Apple to go down as Android takes over or will it be the opposite?

QuickPress: Android Has Finally Updated Gingerbread!

After a long wait for most Droid 2 users it seems that of today, Google has finally updated Android 2.3 code name- Gingerbread. After most people switched to different versions of Android and newer models of Android supporting phones there seems to be a rocket boost for 2.3 downloads of Gingerbread. This new little update for all Droid 2 has a few new features that you will probably notice after you Droid 2 people update your software which is currently strongly recommended to prevent any hacking or any other problems that may occur for you normally.

It seems that Gingerbread 2.2 seemed to be a little buggy and the same features were played over and over again which just made it boring for Droid 2 users ,and Android moved on to put Honeycomb and the upcoming Ice Cream Sandwich on to the other devices that seemed to be much more compaitable for the Android to make a good marketing share and to make a good leap for it’s own good. If you are interested in Ice Cream Sandwich- Android 4.0 you can click here.

Android Ice Cream Sandwich Just Leaked From the Freezer!

It seems that the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich beta) that is currently being tested by Google has run away from the freezer. I guess now people know what’s going on in the Google’s lair. Bum, bum, bum. That can be a good thing and maybe a little bad. Android Ice Cream Sandwich seems to be the next operating system for a lot of tablets except for Apple of course. You can see that both Android Police and RootzWiki have gotten hold of the leaked OS and have gotten a few snapshots, but covering the vital details of the project.

It looks as if Ice Cream Sandwich has some new features ,but also have the same ones that you would find in Honeycomb. It’s not fully 100 % confirmed that this will be the next major version of Android like how iOS developers are going from 4.0 to 5.0. Well that’s how it kind of is for Android just that it is going from 3.0 to 4.0. Google is trying to get out Ice Cream Sandwich before Apple releases their version of the new iOS 5. Right now Google is trying to make sure that this new version of Android can work on both tablets and smartphones. So it seems like the newest version of Android 4.0 won’t look super cool which brings doubts on people on whether if the photo is fake or if this isn’t a major update.

Apparently there are a few differences just by looking at the snapshots and comparing them to how Honeycomb looked. Google still wanted to keep the look of it very digital and a lightweight look.

These photos may be a fake or they just may not be. Who knows? We just have to wait until the real thing comes out. Look at the bottom slideshow for the snapshots of the the leaked images of Android Ice Cream Sandwich

Breaking News: Amazon’s Upcoming Tablet in November?

Mockup 4

Here we go again. This war will never stop will it? The latest robotpress says that Engadget and TechCrunch have revealed the new coming Amazon Tablet, in November. Are you kidding me?

Sources such as TechCrunch and Engadget have gotten out leaked information about Amazon’s tablet that they are still working on. It’s not the Kindle, and it is completely different, and Amazon is currently looking forward in using their own operating system.

It seems that TI (Texas Instruments) will be setting up the microprocessors, as usual. I believe that around the first quarter of 2012, Jeff Bezos has planned to start production of the tablets which will be about 10 in. It is to be said that a 7 inch slate will start production in October, which is next month, or could start the production in November. There are no confirmations about the software that it is running on though. I don’t believe that it will be running on Android Honeycomb or any sooner the Ice Cream Sandwich (Android).

Amazon’s tablet doesn’t seem to be a huge threat to Apple, but in some cases it can be. This tablet doesn’t intend to compete with Apple by being just like the iPad. Amazon seems to be trying out a newer idea, and we will just have to see what they are really going to do with this idea of theirs. Now their advantage is that this new tablet of theirs can do a few things, but probably some better e-reading. It’s better than the iPad in one word, size. It isn’t too big, neither is it too small. It is just the right size for people to throw in their bags on a train or read it in their flight. It isn’t something like an iPad 2, that seems to be like an overstretched iPod touch. It is just something that is small, light weight, and easy for people to handle it. That’s it. It’s that simple to use something like that. Throw it in you backpack and read a book at lunch. It’s just a new thought that people are ready for.

Well it seems that there are a lot of kindle readers, and once Amazon switches to this. It’s just going to be raining money for them. According the some rumors people believe that shipping will start in early October. That’s what THEY say. I don’t think that’s true at all though.

Like the old tv shows. I’m signing out as all of you tech people, stay tuned.

QuickPress: New HTC Tablet! Let’s See the Competition Now

*I have been busy lately with many projects, and this is just a quick news flash. A main post will be posted tomorrow.

HTC released it’s new Jetstream which will cost $699, including the contract to signed with ATT. I believe that this will fall once again to Apple. The Jetstream 4G is  expensive and now an ATT contract? What if I don’t want 4G. I still need to pay a bill which can make the total of this single product in one year about $1,000. Now, for that I would actually buy an iPad 2 with 3G. 4G is expensive and not very much people except top class business men and very high classed spendthrifts who are ready to pay their money for anything that is the latest. Honestly, I would just get a debug version of this and hack it for some free 4G from ATT.

The new HTC Jetstream will run on Android Honeycomb 3.1 OS and will be a new step for Android. Trust me if this is another failure than Hacknmod is going to put up another deal for $2,000 for a team to successfully hack and get some other OS, like iOS running on this. Android is open-source and many iOS developers have a target right here. They just have to wait a little while for this plan to also fail, then they will run to grab one of these price-tags.

Specifications:

  • 10.1 inch screen with WXGA display – WXGA is 1280 x 768, which more than your HD 720p display — and that’s so cool!
  • Powerful dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm processor
  • 1 GB RAM — that, coupled with processor’s raw power would easily take care of anyapp, live wallpapers, heavy graphic-intensive games, etc you throw at it
  • Android 3.x (Honeycomb) – the android’s tablet-specific version, that is
  • 16 GB Storage
  • 8 MP rear camera with lower res secondary one in front
  • It’s AT&T bound and will be the first gadget to support the carrier’s LTE network – which should be incredible
  • Of course, the rest of spec-sheet is filled with standard features like, WiFi,Bluetooth, 3G, etc – don’t bother about that, please!

The unit weighs about 1.56 pounds and has a measurement of 10.1″, a 1.3 megapixel camera, and maybe just 1/2 inch thick.

For those of you who don’t know about the ATT 4G plan here’s the specifications. $35 per month for 3 GB of data, $14.99 for 250 MB, and $25 for 2 GB. I have nothing to say, but that is just a rip off. Why would you agree to a deal like that? That’s $420 a year! If you add that to your HTC your paying about $1,120 just on your first year! Now you make the choice. Yes, no, I’ll hack it, or just forget it.

Modders Finally Get Android to the HP TouchPad!

Developers had gotten Android OS on the HP TouchPad!

Modders that had been working for HacknMod.com’s big contest have now put up Android for the HP TouchPad! Hooray! Hackers had been working on this for a few weeks and it seems that hacking this wasn’t even a problem for them.

It might not satisfy your thought, but for now they’ve just only gotten the Android OS running on the TouchPad and haven’t gotten the functionalities working on it, so the touch screen, the camera, and all the other features won’t work with the Android OS, but they will work if you can use your own computer keyboard.

Currently, modders are still in the work and progress mod of their big project and are just typing furiously typing on the keyboard, just trying to get all the features of the TouchPad some home enabled to work with the Android OS. To people who didn’t know. After Hp’s Touch Pad sale of over %80, and getting the TouchPad off it’s back, HacknMod.com had issued a request for all modders and hackers to get the open source Android OS to work on the TouchPad and are ready to pay a full $1,200 dollars for the first team to get the Android running on the TouchPad with all of the features working. $200 for each feature enabled, and maybe $100 in cold hard cash for just getting the Android on the TouchPad.

After all the news, modders and hackers had immediately started teams and got ready for their big project and splitting up the cash for the first one to get the Android running. Currently, the progress is still in an up and down kind of thing and so far you can check out this video, showing the first team to get the Android running on the TouchPad using webOS ,but they haven’t got the full features on ,and are still working mainly on that part.

The developer were using the basic mod of Cyanogenmod beta 7, and got it up and running as the first boot. These guys get the $2,000. That much money to just slap on Android on to the defunct TouchPad, this is just way to easy for them to hack into. The Cyanogenmod team had been working on this for weeks and just appeared to get the TouchPad up and running in just a few weeks. I’m not sure if there is any other news of other teams that have slapped on Android to the TouchPad, but all I know is that they are probably working on getting all the other features fit in, to get the full price of the cold, hard cash. Currently the team has the focus on the idea of getting the touch screen capability up working on the device ,and are in need of hardware for the project. If you want to give them some devices, you can just go to their channel off the youtube video and give a comment. They are in need for some TouchPads so that some of their developers can work with them. They have also tried to get the ability for people to choose what OS that they want to use. All of that information is in the description of the youtube video.

So now we just have to see what all these hackers can do with what they have and see if they can be the first ones to get all the features runnning on the TouchPad. First comes, first served.

Exclusive: Hurricane Irene Is Getting A Step Closer Everyday!

Hurricane Irene

Hurricane Irene, one of the most brutal hurricane started as a Category 4 storm and then completely wiped out the Bahamas and the other countries  just off the coast of the North American continent. Hurricane Irene was actually discovered around last week of August. Most meteorologists believed that the tropical storm would just lay off and maybe be a small tropical thunder-storm. After a few days the  storm started to rapidly increase in power and the storm started to get “The Evil Eye” and then started the rampage to tramp over the coastline cities of the Bahamas.

Currently, the storm is heading towards the Eastern coast and North Carolina has already gotten a hurricane warning and has evacuated almost all the people in an entire town to head for safety for the upcoming disaster. An island of the Bahamas has also gotten a warning and people are doing all their best to stay safe from the treacherous storm. Right now, as if Thursday 10:00 PM the storm is just on the eastern side of Florida (not touching Florida). By tomorrow, Irene will become a category two and hit the coasts of the Eastern states including North Carolina and Virginia. After falling to a category 2, Irene will fall to the last category and just become a less severe storm hitting the New England area.

[Image of 5-day forecast and coastal areas under a warning or a watch]

Fortunately, Irene doesn’t seem to be severe as it seems and won’t be anywhere close to Hurricane Katrina’s damages. NOAA says that the damages won’t be too much. A few states: North Carolina and Virginia have been issued some warnings for the Hurricane and a few other states just have a Tropical Storm warning, which isn’t as bad as a Hurricane. According to NOAA, their research states that the hurricane will just fade off within 5 days of time and should disperse after going through the New England area and just crossing through the northern seas just above Canada.

A few other of northern states have been issued a few Hurricane watches and Tropical Storm watches. All we can do is just watch this unpredictable storm make it’s next move, and we will take our precautionary steps toward safety as well.

(I meant to write this article away from technology so that people could know what is going on)

A Great Era Ends: Steve Jobs Steps Down As CEO

Steve Jobs announced on August 24th, 2011 that he will be stepping down from CEO of Apple. Steve Jobs had stepped down and is now Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee. Steve Jobs had officially said that he would make sure that Tim Cook would take his place as Apple CEO.

Steve Jobs already had a rare form of pancreatic cancer and had to leave in January to watch and take care of his health and his body. He eventually came back in the year and after this long he finally had written the words to confirm his heartbreaking retirement.

With Jobs under Apple, the company had made so much progress, revenue, respect, and so much leaps in our technology. Apple had made what we wanted to do all our lives. Steve Jobs had his last line of products this year including the new iPod with a camera, a iPod touch with a camera and finally, the iPhone 4 with the newest features and the next square on the technology timeline. From DaVinci to Steve Jobs.  Even though Jobs still takes role in Apple, people still feels uncomfortable from Jobs resigning from Apple.

Jobs had made many milestones in his career as CEO, including over topping Microsoft and all the other companies in the world and taking place as the world’s most innovative and greatest company in technology advancement. With Apple’s greatest man stepping down from the stands, everyone can just sit and ponder what Tim Cook can ever do to keep the honor of the mastermind behind the world’s greatest products.

A great era ends.

Steve Job’s resignition letter from http://www.wired.com

“To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.”

-Steve
